Lake of Stars Festival and other news

We are very happy to announce that we will be joining our friends, Lake of Stars, for their 15th anniversary party!

Lake of Stars Malawi Arts Festival is one of the most unique festival experiences in the world. Hosted on the shores of Lake Malawi, Lake of Stars promotes Malawian music and arts through a wide variety of activities and events. We will be bringing a bunch of skates over and running Malawi's first ever roller disco's over the 3 days of the festival. We also hope to be doing some outreach classes with the local communities prior to the festival kicking off. We can't wait share our love of roller skating with the people in Malawi and the festival goers. This is a big step for us in realising our goal of building Malawi's first roller rink. A Malawian owned and operated business promoting community, music, fun, fitness and sustainability. If you want to come along to the party head to http://lakeofstars.org/ where you can book tickets. We can't recommend Malawi enough! A beautiful country full of brilliant and friendly people.

So that makes September a very busy month for Skate Malawi as we will be in Barcelona for Skate Love Festival the week before we head out to Malawi. If you fancy a trip to the world's biggest outdoor roller skating festival then head over to https://www.skatelove.barcelona/ where you can get tickets for this slice of roller skating paradise.

We also want to make a big shout out to all the lovely people from the roller derby and skate community in Glasgow who have been very kindly donating skates, pads and helmets for us to take over to Malawi in September. Big up Mean City. The No.1 raddest roller skating crew in Scotland.

See yas in the sunshine!

Big Love,

Skate Malawi x
